Shaelyn McLain
International Yoga Teacher & Mind-Body Specialist
Hi, I'm Shelyn McLain, a passionate mind-body medicine practitioner, trauma-informed yoga instructor, integrative wellness coach, and somatic meditation teacher. I hold a PhD and MS in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University, where I currently serve as a professor and core faculty member, helping others explore integrative wellness and healing modalities.

Yoga and mindfulness have always been at the heart of my journey. I’m a 200-hour registered yoga teacher rooted in Hatha and Vinyasa styles, teaching in my local Reno community and internationally.
My approach blends breathwork, movement, and meditation to help people reconnect with their bodies and thrive in their daily lives. As an integrative wellness coach, I support people in aligning their physical, mental, and spiritual health. I love working with individuals to create personalized strategies that promote balance, vitality, and resilience.
I’m also a mindfulness-based leadership practitioner, guiding individuals and groups in mindful awareness practices that support personal growth, stress management, and deeper self-discovery. Whether through yoga, guided meditation, or mind-body workshops, my goal is to create spaces where people can nurture their well-being and thrive.
When I’m not teaching or coaching, you’ll likely find me traveling abroad, hiking in the Sierras, or sitting in sacred ceremony with plant medicine. Nature is my sanctuary, and I feel most at home among the mountains, whether it’s a local trail in the Reno/Tahoe area or somewhere far away. I believe in the power of holistic wellness and community and am here to support others on their own healing journeys, wherever they are.
